Former "Liverpool" midfielder Graeme Souness has delivered a sharp assessment of Mohamed Salah, saying the forward’s numbers and overall influence have dropped this season. According to Souness, Salah has been one of the main reasons behind the team’s inconsistent performances.
Souness said Salah’s current statistics speak for themselves and argued that the Egyptian star is no longer producing at the level expected from him. He also made his position clear on the player’s future, saying Salah should leave the club in the summer transfer window.
This season, the 33-year-old has played 34 matches for "Liverpool", scoring 10 goals and providing 9 assists. While those figures remain respectable, they are below the standards Salah has set in previous years, which has fueled criticism from former players and pundits.
Salah is under contract with "Liverpool" until the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at 30 million euros.
