Guardiola: "A prize won during a difficult period is of particular importance"

Following Manchester City's convincing 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the English League Cup final, manager Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts. The Spanish specialist emphasized that this award is not only a result, but also an important achievement after a difficult period.
Guardiola didn't hide the fact that the final match wasn't easy. He said that in the first minutes of the match, "Arsenal" put a lot of pressure on them, leaving the "citizens" practically no chance.
"In the first 15 minutes, the opponent didn't let us breathe, it was really difficult. Later, we started controlling the ball and entered the game. In such a situation, patience and discipline are of decisive importance," the coach noted.
He also spoke warmly about the opposing team and his coach, Mikel Arteta. Guardiola acknowledged that winning against such an opponent is not easy, noting that Arsenal has now become a very strong and almost invincible team.
- Winning this cup for the fifth time in the last ten years is not a bad result. But each subsequent prize seems even more difficult than the previous one. There are many reasons: competition is strong, pressure is high, every game is like a final," he said.
The coach also emphasized that he is working with a young team. In his opinion, it takes time to fully understand the players, to know how they act in different situations.
- In modern football, any opponent is dangerous. We haven't reached Arsenal's level or our previous strongest period yet. But the most important thing is that we found a way to win," Guardiola added.
In conclusion, this victory was not just a trophy for Manchester City, but a sign of confidence in the future. Although the team has not yet reached its peak, it is clear that such successes will serve to make them even stronger.
