Will Mohamed Salah take Eldor Shomurodov’s place at “Roma”?

In the Italian championship, the club “Roma,” competing for top positions, sent its Uzbek forward Eldor Shomurodov on loan to the Turkish club “Istanbul Başakşehir” before the start of this season. Since then, the Romans have not been able to find a reliable striker capable of fully replacing Eldor.
In place of Shomurodov, the Irishman Evan Ferguson, invited from the English Premier League, also did not justify the trust. In 16 Serie A matches, Ferguson scored only three goals, and health-related issues further reduced his effectiveness. For this reason, “Roma” decided to bring him back at the end of the season.
During the loan, “Roma” received 3 million euros from the Istanbul club for Shomurodov. According to an additional condition, if “Başakşehir” maintains its place in the Turkish Super League, they are obliged to pay another 2.8 million euros and complete the full transfer of the Uzbek forward.
The Istanbul club, in turn, is competing for high positions in the Super League, aiming to secure a spot in European tournaments. In this regard, Eldor’s contribution, who scored 16 goals in 27 matches, is of significant importance.
From this situation, it can be concluded that Shomurodov will not return to Rome in the summer, and his relations with “Roma” will be completely terminated. The club plans to fill his place with Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian star recently announced that he will leave “Liverpool” after the end of the current season. According to analysts, the 33-year-old forward may return to Italy, to Serie A, where he made a positive breakthrough in his career. Salah played for “Roma” from 2015 to 2017 and gained a reputation as a high-class striker.
The authoritative publication La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported that Mohamed Salah is considering leaving “Liverpool” and returning specifically to “Roma.” According to sources, he may spend one season at the Italian club to postpone the final decision about his future.
While at the “Wolves,” Salah participated in all competitions in 83 matches, scoring 34 goals and providing 21 assists. In the current season, playing for “Liverpool,” he participated in 34 matches, scored 10 goals, and made 10 assists.
According to Transfermarkt, the footballer’s current market value is estimated at around 30 million euros.
Now the Romans aim to strengthen their attacking potential through Mohamed Salah and achieve high objectives in Serie A.
