Yesterday on the chessboard, two important and joyful events happened for our compatriot Javokhir Sindarov. First, he was registered as a full participant of the “Grand Chess Tour” tournament and gained the opportunity to demonstrate his potential in all rounds. Second, Sindarov unexpectedly defeated his strong opponent Pragg and continues to maintain the lead in the tournament standings.
Our compatriot shared his thoughts about yesterday’s game and provided chess fans with interesting details:
“Praggnanandha plays excellently under time pressure, but in my opinion, his position was quite complicated for a five-minute game. Even without the 33.c5 sacrifice, the situation was very difficult for him. Then he missed the strike on c2, and I am glad that he did not notice it.
Pragg is truly a very strong opponent. We have often played since childhood, and he almost always defeated me – the score was approximately 4:1 or 5:1. But this game was very tense and competitive, and I was lucky to get a good position under time pressure,” said Sindarov.
Thus, our compatriot not only demonstrated his abilities in the chess game but also retained the lead in the tournament. This victory further strengthens Sindarov’s international reputation and brings great joy to his fans.
