After the 31st round of La Liga, Barcelona head coach Hansi-Dieter Flick shared his opinion about the team’s current season situation and the increased points gap over Real Madrid. The Catalan club won their next match convincingly and, taking advantage of their rival dropping points, extended their lead in the standings to 9 points.
Flick emphasized that the team has not gone through an easy season. He openly mentioned the large number of injuries and that in some matches they were unable to produce the expected results. Despite this, he gave a positive assessment of the team’s overall dynamics and playing quality.
“I am only in a positive mood. Throughout the season there have been many different difficulties, there have been many injuries. But we have always moved forward. Like other top teams, we also went through difficult periods, but we are overcoming them,” said the coach.
Flick also stressed that one of the team’s main goals is success on the European stage. He stated that everything possible is being done to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
In his opinion, at this stage the most important thing is physical and psychological readiness. Especially in a congested schedule, every match requires a lot of effort.
“We must go into every match fully prepared. The schedule is tight, but we will have enough time for recovery. This is very important. We believe in our strength and know that we can fight for the championship,” said Flick.
At the same time, he emphasized that individual quality alone is not enough for big achievements. According to him, the secret to winning the championship is team play and the right mentality.
“Quality alone is not enough, you must play as a team. You need to go into every match with the right mindset. I believe we can become champions, but nothing has been decided yet,” the coach concluded.
This statement from Flick further strengthened Barcelona fans’ confidence, while the La Liga title race is becoming increasingly intense and exciting.
