Iranian Championship Halted: National Team Prepares for World Cup

Uzbek football expert Alisher Nikimbayev provided information about significant changes in Iranian football. He noted that the Iranian championship will not be resumed this season, and all focus is being shifted to the national team's preparations.
Based on his sources, the specialist reported that colleagues in Iran confirmed plans to continue the championship have been canceled. Now, the country's national team will officially start its preparation process for the World Cup starting this Saturday.
The initial stage of preparation will take place within Iran. While the exact location of the camp is not yet known, the team is planned to hold a training camp for three weeks. During this period, the main emphasis will be on improving physical condition—meaning getting the players into shape is the top priority.
In the next stage, the Iranian national team may travel to Turkey. A second training camp is expected to be organized there, along with international friendly matches. Thus, the team intends to prepare thoroughly for the World Cup.
At the same time, various rumors that circulated earlier about boycotting the World Cup have now lost their significance. In other words, the Iranian national team is seriously committed to participating in the tournament.
This decision also directly affects Uzbek footballers. Odil Hamrobekov, Rustam Ashurmatov, Oston Orunov, Igor Sergeyev, and Jaloliddin Masharipov, who play in the Iranian Pro League, will no longer appear for their clubs until the World Cup.
In short, the situation is serious: the championship has stopped, but the main goal is the World Cup. Now all attention is focused on the big stage.
