How Arbeloa commented on the defeat against Bayern

Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa spoke to the press after the Champions League second leg match against Bayern (3:4, first leg 1:2).
According to him, the team showed a very strong and meaningful performance on the field. Arbeloa did not hide that he was pleased with the players' hard work, but the result was still painful. At the same time, he expressed regret for the fans — both those in the stadium and those supporting the team behind screens:
“It was a great game in terms of my players' performance. I feel very sorry for the effort they put in. I also feel sorry for our fans who came to the stadium and watched from home,” said Arbeloa.
The coach noted that Real failed to achieve the dreamed 16th European title this season, which was a serious blow to the club. However, he specifically mentioned that the team fought until the end for its values and the club crest:
"It is painful that we couldn't secure the 16th title in the Champions League this year. But the team gave everything they had, and we will return with our crest held high," said Arbeloa.
Arbeloa also reminded that there were several scoring opportunities during the game. He stated that substitutions were planned because some players felt fatigued, but a turning point in the match changed all plans:
"We had chances to score. Some players were tired and we were preparing for substitutions, but after the goal, everything was decided," said Arbeloa.
At the same time, he emphasized that the battle in La Liga would not be easy. Every match now holds decisive importance for the team, and they must act with maximum strength until the end of the season:
"It won't be easy in the championship either, but we must fight until the very end," said Arbeloa.
In short, Real has left the European arena, but according to Arbeloa, the team is not broken spiritually — the fight continues.
