Bayern defender Raphael Guerreiro will miss the first leg of the Champions League semifinals because of injury. Munich head coach Vincent Kompany will not be able to use the 32-year-old in the important match against Paris Saint-Germain. This was reported by Goal.com reports.
According to the club's press service, Guerreiro suffered a left-leg injury in the Bundesliga match against Mainz. A medical examination revealed that the player's muscles were slightly damaged.
The defender started in that match, which the Munich side won.
For now, it is unclear when the Portuguese defender will return to action, but he will definitely miss Tuesday's game in Paris. Guerreiro has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists.
It has also been confirmed that Raphael Guerreiro will leave Bayern at the end of the season. His current contract expires this summer, and the club's management has decided not to extend the deal.
