Real Madrid Withdraws from Bernardo Silva Transfer

Real Madrid has reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva after his agent, Jorge Mendes, offered the player to the Spanish giants. Although the Portuguese international is expected to leave the Premier League this summer, Madrid officials determined that his profile does not align with the club's long-term tactical strategy. Instead, the reigning European champions are prioritizing a move for Silva's teammate, Rodri, to bolster their defensive midfield. Silva, a multi-time Premier League winner, is now being linked with potential moves to Juventus or a return to his former club, Benfica.
Reports that Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva could join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window have been denied. According to the Spanish publication As, the player's agent Jorge Mendes offered his client to the Madrid club. This was reported by Goal.com reports.
The 31-year-old Portuguese player is expected to leave the English club at the end of the current season. Silva wants to continue his career at a top-level team, but Real Madrid's management did not approve his candidacy.

Although Silva could become a free agent at the end of June and join for free, the Madrid club said his profile does not fit the team's future plans. For that reason, Mendes's offer was immediately rejected.
Real Madrid are currently looking for a holding midfielder and have chosen Silva's teammate Rodri as their main target in this regard. There is also interest in the Portuguese player from Juventus and his former club Benfica.
Bernardo Silva joined Man City from Monaco in 2017 for 50 million euros. With the team, he has won the Premier League six times and the Champions League once.
In the current season, he has appeared in 47 matches in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 5 assists.
