Marseille to pay Arsenal additional money for not playing Nwaneri

Arsenal is set to receive additional funds regarding the loan of midfielder Ethan Nwaneri to Marseille. According to the agreement between the parties, it was stipulated that the less time the player spends on the pitch, the higher the loan fee the French club must pay. Goal.com reports on this matter.
The 18-year-old talent, who joined Marseille in January, has been unable to secure a place in the starting lineup. According to L’Equipe, the loan fee is inversely proportional to the player's participation, meaning his remaining on the bench is leading to financial losses for the French side.

Although Nwaneri scored a goal in his debut match for the new team, a change in management has negatively affected his situation. Habib Beye, who took over the team following Roberto De Zerbi's departure, has not hidden his dissatisfaction with the young player's enthusiasm and performance on the field.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta also emphasized that academy graduates will not be given preferential treatment. According to him, every player must prove their place through consistent high-level performance over the years.

The London club may consider the option of selling Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly during the summer transfer window. The combined value of the two young talents is estimated at 100 million pounds sterling, and Borussia Dortmund has expressed interest in them.
