Kompany remains defiant: Bayern believes in a comeback

Bayern Munich was seen as one of the main contenders for the Champions League title this season. However, the German giants were forced to exit the competition after a 5-6 aggregate defeat to PSG in the semifinals.

After the match, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany shared his thoughts on the team's performance, opportunities, and future plans. The Belgian tactician emphasized that he genuinely believed throughout the season that his team could win the Champions League.

— I always feel the possibility of winning the Champions League. I had that feeling this year too. The team had character, quality, and great passion. But this tournament is very complex, — said Kompany.

The coach noted that for a massive club like Bayern, winning Europe's most prestigious competition is never easy. He reminded that even the strongest clubs in Champions League history do not win every year.

— Bayern has won this tournament six times. The Champions League has been held for nearly 60-70 years. Apart from Real Madrid, most top clubs usually win the title once a decade. Therefore, I don't want to put excessive pressure on us. I understand how difficult it is to achieve this trophy, — said the expert.

Kompany also stressed that the team had the potential to reach the final and even win the trophy this year. In his opinion, certain small details and situations negatively impacted Bayern's fate.

— We could have won everything this year. Perhaps next season, luck and circumstances will be on our side. The most important thing is not to stop and to come back even stronger, — said the Belgian coach.

As a reminder, PSG will face Arsenal in the Champions League final. The continent's main football event will take place on May 30 at the famous Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.

Bayern fans believe the team will fight seriously for the European throne again in the new season.
