Crystal Palace fans attacked in Leipzig

An unpleasant incident occurred in Leipzig ahead of the Conference League final. English fans awaiting the decisive match between Crystal Palace and Rayo Vallecano were unexpectedly attacked by a group of masked individuals. Videos circulating on social media show a group in black clothing attacking fans gathered outside a bar with chairs and bottles. This is reported by Goal.com reports.
According to The Telegraph, the identities of the attackers have not yet been officially confirmed. It is speculated that they could be Rayo Vallecano ultras or supporters of the local club Lokomotive Leipzig. German police arrived in riot gear to stop the unrest and surrounded about 60 suspects.
This final is of historical importance for Crystal Palace. Having won the FA Cup last season, the team was excluded from the Europa League due to UEFA's multi-club ownership rules. Oliver Glasner's side reached the final after defeating teams like Zrinjski Mostar, AEK Larnaca, Fiorentina, and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Conference League.
If Crystal Palace wins, they will become the third English team to triumph in this tournament after West Ham and Chelsea. Furthermore, this victory would guarantee them a spot in the Europa League for next season. Security measures have been tightened in the city, and the police have the situation under control.
