Carlo Ancelotti: Brazil no longer has stars like Pele or Ronaldo

Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke openly about the team's current state, noting that the "Seleção" no longer possesses icons of the caliber seen in previous years. The Italian tactician believes the five-time world champions must focus more on collective play rather than relying on a single superstar. This is reported by Goal.com .

Ahead of the friendly match against Panama at the Maracanã Stadium, the former Real Madrid manager stated that responsibility must be shared to achieve success. "Sometimes we talk a lot about the lack of stars in Brazil. It may be true, we don't have Pele, Romario, or Ronaldo, but we have collective responsibility. Experienced players must take on more accountability, while the youth should play with less pressure," said Ancelotti.

The coach also mentioned that he is working hard to strengthen the defensive line, but does not want to limit the creativity of the forwards. According to him, the roles of defenders, wingers, and midfielders will be decisive in the World Cup. Brazil aims to reclaim the world crown for the first time since 2002.

Although the team's main star Neymar is unable to train fully due to injury, Ancelotti decided to include him in the squad. The coach had previously stated he would only call up players who are 100 percent fit, but made an exception for the experienced forward who has scored 79 goals in 128 matches.

Ancelotti is confident that Neymar will regain his form before the tournament's decisive stages. "We lost Militao, Rodrygo, and Estevao, but Neymar will be 100 percent ready by the World Cup," the coach added during the press conference.
