Intel investigates Arc GPU performance drops with older CPUs
Intel is officially investigating reports of Arc GPU performance issues when paired with older-generation processors, reports 3DNews.

The issue was first highlighted by Hardware Unboxed on YouTube, which showed that cards like the Intel B580 perform noticeably worse when used with:

- Ryzen 5 2600
- Ryzen 5 5600
- Intel Core i5-9600K

Compared to newer CPUs like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the Arc GPUs delivered significantly lower performance in the same conditions.

Intel acknowledged the issue with a statement on its official forum:

“We are aware of performance sensitivity reports in certain games when paired with older CPUs. We’ve expanded platform coverage and are continuing optimization efforts.”

Importantly, the issue is not caused by Resizable BAR, although Arc GPUs are highly dependent on its support, making them more platform-sensitive than NVIDIA or AMD cards.
