Apple’s next flagship smartphone — the iPhone 18 — is expected to launch in 2026, as reported by pepelac.news. Several major innovations may appear in this model.
The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to feature a variable aperture camera. This will allow users to manually control how much light hits the sensor — useful for both bright lighting conditions and depth-of-field control.
Additionally, Apple may introduce its own C2 modem, enhancing 5G performance, including mmWave support. This aligns with Apple’s strategy to replace Qualcomm chips with in-house solutions for better integration and efficiency.
The iPhone 18 Pro will be powered by the A20 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process. CoWoS packaging technology will help improve interaction between the processor, memory, and neural engine — essential for future on-device AI capabilities.
Reports also indicate that Samsung may supply 48MP ultra-wide sensors for the iPhone 18 Pro, potentially marking Apple’s first departure from using Sony sensors.
Finally, Apple could implement under-display Face ID. Though it may not replace the Dynamic Island entirely, the size of the cutout is expected to shrink. Apple may also shift to a single hole for the front-facing camera, similar to Android rivals. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
