Google updates Android Auto: install urgently

Google has released the beta version of Android Auto 14.4, Pepelac News reported. The update will be available to the public next week. As usual, no official changelog has been provided, but the focus is on improving stability and preparing for upcoming features.

One major development is deeper integration of Android Auto with car systems. Unlike Android Automotive, Android Auto has limited access to vehicle data since it runs via smartphone. Google aims to change that by integrating climate control into the interface.

Climate control buttons will be added to the bottom panel of the interface, making access easier. This feature has been spotted in earlier builds and is now approaching full release.

Additionally, Android Auto will soon support Android games on car multimedia screens. The first supported titles — Angry Birds and Candy Crush — are already available. This requires Android 15 and the latest Android Auto version.
