New Google AI slashes errors in Docs and Gmail

New Google AI slashes errors in Docs and Gmail
At Google I/O 2025, the company introduced a range of new artificial intelligence features for its Workspace apps — specifically Gmail, Google Docs, and the video editor Google Vids, according to 3DNews.

Gmail now includes personalized smart replies that generate context-aware messages based on prior email threads and Google Drive content. Gemini tailors responses to match the user’s tone — whether formal or conversational — and inserts relevant, up-to-date information into replies.

There’s also a new inbox cleaning feature: users can simply instruct Gemini in natural language, for example, “delete all unread emails from this sender over the past year,” and the assistant will take care of it by archiving or removing messages.

Another tool helps schedule meetings with contacts outside the organization. Gemini scans calendars and proposes available times automatically — saving users time and hassle. These new Gmail functions will become publicly available in the coming months.

Google Docs received a feature that lets Gemini rely only on linked and verified sources like spreadsheets, presentations, and reports — ensuring generated content is trustworthy and relevant. This feature is already live for general use.

Google Vids also got major upgrades:
• Convert Google Slides presentations directly into videos
• Use Gemini to write scripts, generate voiceovers and animations
• Introduce AI avatars — ideal for companies lacking production resources. Write a script and the avatar delivers the message in video form
• “Transcript trim” removes filler words and unnecessary utterances automatically (coming soon to Labs)
• “Balance sound” adjusts audio levels evenly — available to all in June
• The Imagen 4 AI image generator now helps produce high-quality illustrations directly in documents.

These updates make Workspace apps more intelligent, efficient, and tailored to users’ needs with powerful AI support.
