Pronto AI, a startup developing autonomous vehicle technology, has acquired its rival SafeAI, reported TechCrunch.
SafeAI is known for building autonomous trucks and equipment that operate in mines, construction zones, and other hazardous off-road environments. The acquisition gives Pronto AI a pathway beyond public roads, extending its reach into rugged and remote terrains.
As part of the deal, the SafeAI brand will be retired, and its team and technologies will be fully absorbed into Pronto. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Pronto founder Anthony Levandowski stated that the company will now focus on deploying autonomous systems in mines and isolated zones, where driverless vehicles can be especially efficient and safe. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
