Uber has announced a new robotaxi partnership — this time with China’s tech giant Baidu, reported TechCrunch.
Under the deal, Baidu will begin integrating its Apollo Go autonomous vehicle fleet into the Uber platform. The service will initially launch in the Chinese cities of Chongqing and Wuhan.
This isn’t Uber’s first robotaxi partnership. The company has already teamed up with Motional and Waymo in the U.S. The Baidu deal marks another step in Uber’s global strategy to expand its autonomous ride-hailing services.
Baidu’s Apollo Go service has been operating in China since 2020 and has completed millions of autonomous trips. The service also runs in cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
