From September 1, the MAX messenger will be added to the list of applications that must be pre-installed on electronic devices. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Pravilamag reported.
According to the new rules, MAX will replace “VK Messenger,” which was included in the list of mandatory apps in 2023.
Starting from the same date, the RuStore application will also become mandatory for iOS and HyperOS systems. Previously, this store was only available on Android and HarmonyOS devices.
In the future, MAX messenger is planned to be integrated with the “Gosuslugi” portal and the “Sferum” educational platform. It is expected to become not only a regular messenger but also a tool for online interaction with government services, similar to China’s WeChat.
The official presentation of the app will take place in the fall. However, MAX is already active: users can chat, make calls, send voice messages, and share files.
