Elon Musk’s companies X and xAI have sued Apple and OpenAI. They claim that these two major technology companies have joined forces and are blocking other competitors. This, they say, disrupts fair competition in the market.
Court documents state that Apple has integrated only OpenAI’s chatbot into its phones and other devices. Because of this, other artificial intelligence programs find it difficult to reach users. This situation gives OpenAI a big advantage and leaves others behind.
Elon Musk had previously accused Apple and OpenAI of unfair agreements. OpenAI called these statements “Musk’s usual attack.” Apple has not yet responded to these allegations.
Musk actually co-founded OpenAI with Sam Altman in 2015. But over time, disagreements arose between them, and eventually they became rivals. Now Musk is developing his own artificial intelligence programs such as xAI and Grok, competing with OpenAI.
The court filings state that the special agreement between Apple and OpenAI has not only reduced competition but also slowed down innovation.
