Final Fantasy XIV Expected to Expand Character Customization

Final Fantasy XIV director and producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida said in a recent discussion that the team is considering broader character customization options. What exactly will change has not been disclosed yet, but he emphasized that the necessary technical groundwork is already in place. This is reported by playground.ru reports .

Yoshida also added that some updates suggested by players are already being taken into account in upcoming patches—specifically, ideas to improve Explorer Mode have been added to the list of future updates. He also stated that by the time patch 7.5 is released, the Korean version will operate alongside the global and Chinese servers; the patch is scheduled for spring 2026.

With update 7.5, the next Ultimate raid is expected, along with other new content. This includes “Beastmaster” (a Limited Job—“Master of Beasts”). In addition, the developers plan to add a vendor where old relic weapons can be purchased, helping players free up inventory space.

However, update 7.4 is unfolding amid server issues: some users in North America have reported intermittent disconnections from the game. Although the developers attempted to fix certain bugs with a Christmas patch, server outages affecting the Aether, Primal, Crystal, and Dynamics data centers remain a sore point for the community.

Earlier, Yoshida also hinted at a Final Fantasy XIV version for Nintendo Switch 1/2.
