Japanese robot monk based on artificial intelligence - Buddharoid (video)

The humanoid robot, named "Buddharoid," is trained based on giant Buddhist inscriptions and can move like a human priest and conduct engaging conversations with gestures, Euronews reports.
Scientists at Kyoto University have introduced an artificial intelligence-based robot monk designed to provide spiritual guidance, answer the most important questions of life, and even assist in religious rituals.
The humanoid, named "Buddharoid," was trained on the basis of a vast number of Buddhist writings, including highly specialized texts, giving him numerical wisdom to answer personal and philosophical questions.
The project is led by Seiji Kumagai from the Institute of the Future of Human Society at Kyoto University. By combining advanced language models with commercially available humanoid models, the robot has the ability to speak, gesticulate, move, and perceive traditional prayer situations.
Unlike previous religious robots, such as artificial intelligence simulations of Jesus Christ, which were mainly limited to pre-programmed or scripted sermons, the new system is designed to conduct dynamic conversations while performing human-like actions.
