Microsoft confirmed a Windows 11 login bug

Microsoft has confirmed that a recent cumulative update for Windows 11 is causing sign-in problems across several of its consumer apps and services. The issue is linked to the March update KB5079473 and affects users trying to log in with personal Microsoft accounts. Reports Rozetked.me.

According to the company, the bug can block access to Microsoft Teams Free, OneDrive, Edge, Excel, Word and Microsoft 365 Copilot. In many cases, users see an incorrect message saying there is no internet connection, even though their network is working normally.

The problem does not appear to affect business customers who use Entra ID, formerly known as Azure Active Directory. That means the disruption is currently limited to account authentication for regular users rather than corporate login systems.

Microsoft says it is working on a full fix, but for now it has offered a temporary workaround. Users are advised to restart their computers while staying connected to the internet during the reboot process. If the device is restarted offline, the sign-in issue may return.
