Age verification system via Max introduced in 100,000 Russian stores

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has announced the expansion of the capabilities of the national Max messenger within the country's retail sector. Customers can now verify their age through the application when purchasing certain types of goods. Ixbt.com reports on this.
The system has currently been launched in more than 100,000 retail outlets across the country.
Ministry specialists are working on the next stage of integration. In the future, the messenger will provide the ability to confirm preferential status, specifically for pensioners or members of large families.
This will provide users with the conditions to quickly utilize relevant discounts in stores.
Currently, this function has been implemented at self-service checkouts in the Auchan chain. In the next step, the Max messenger will be more deeply integrated with the Auchan loyalty program and applied to traditional checkout counters as well.
Thus, the messenger is evolving from a simple communication tool into a daily retail services instrument.
