Samsung has announced an unexpected software update for the Galaxy S10 series smartphones, for which support ended three years ago. The new firmware, numbered G97x0ZHU8HZB1, has currently been released for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ models in the Chinese and Hong Kong markets. Ixbt.com reports on this.

The size of the new package is 163 MB and it does not include new security patches. The devices still remain on the February 2023 security system.

According to official information, this update is only aimed at increasing system stability and ensuring the reliable operation of the device.

Users who installed the software noted significant positive changes in the smartphones' operation. In particular, the process of opening menus and applications has become much smoother and faster.

This was the second unplanned update for this series in the last two years.

As a reminder, the Galaxy S10 series went on sale in 2019 with the Android 9 operating system. Later, these devices were updated to Android 12 and the One UI 4.1 interface in 2022.

Currently, there is no official information regarding the distribution of this firmware in other regions.
