NASA astronaut to fly to ISS on Russia's Soyuz spacecraft

The Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center has confirmed the primary crew members who will travel to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Soyuz MS-30 spacecraft. Ixbt.com reports on this.

The crew includes NASA astronaut Deniz Bernxem and Roscosmos cosmonauts Dmitriy Petelin and Konstantin Borisov. Dmitriy Petelin has been appointed as the spacecraft commander, while Bernxem and Borisov will serve as flight engineers.

This team is scheduled to conduct scientific experiments and maintain the station as part of a long-term expedition in Earth's orbit. The flight of the Soyuz MS-30 spacecraft is planned for March 2027.

Additionally, Bernxem, Petelin, and Borisov have been included in the backup crew for the Soyuz MS-29 spacecraft, which is expected to launch on July 14, 2026. Currently, representatives from Roscosmos, NASA, and the European Space Agency continue their activities on the ISS orbit.
