Kursk NPP-2 has begun supplying ten billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually

The first power unit of the Kursk NPP-2, equipped with a VVER-TOI reactor and commissioned on April 27, has officially begun supplying electricity to consumers within Russia's unified energy system. Kursk Region Governor Aleksandr Khinshteyn called this event historic and emphasized that a new generation of power generation has entered the market. This was reported by Ixbt.com xabar.
According to the governor, the operation of the power unit will provide more than 10 billion rubles in tax revenue to the Russian budget annually. The unit's annual production capacity is expected to reach approximately 10 billion kWh.
According to Rosatom, the Kursk NPP-2 will not be limited to a single power unit. Plans are in place to construct three additional units of the same type at the site in the coming years.
