Loongson is preparing Intel and AMD alternatives

Chinese company Loongson Technology has announced its new processor and graphics roadmap. The company is in the final stages of developing the 3B6600 processor and 9A1000 graphics core. While the 9A1000 GPU began trial production in September 2025, the 3B6600 processor is scheduled for production in the third quarter of 2026. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .

The Loongson 3B6600 processor is based on the LA864 architecture, providing performance levels comparable to 12th-generation Intel processors. According to the company, the new processor offers 30 percent higher performance than its predecessor, the 3A6000, and is designed for office tasks.

The 9A1000 GPU delivers performance metrics on par with the Radeon RX 550 released in 2017. Although not intended for modern gaming, it provides 40 TOPS speed for AI calculations and is fully compatible with the Windows operating system.

Loongson also aims to develop 9A2000 and 9A3000 GPUs in the future, with the most powerful expected to transition to a sub-10nm process. The company is also exploring opportunities in the DRAM market and collaborations with platforms like HarmonyOS.
