The largest rocket in human history, Starship V3, prepares for its first flight

SpaceX has announced the date for the first test flight of the Starship V3 rocket configuration. The launch is scheduled for May 20 at 03:30 Tashkent time from the Starbase spaceport in South Texas. This mission is a technologically significant step for the company. According to reports Ixbt.com.

The Starship V3 rocket is equipped with improved Raptor engines, an updated first-stage architecture, and new control systems. During the initial test, the plan is not to return the Super Heavy booster to the launch pad, but to land it in the open sea. The upper stage will carry 22 Starlink satellite mock-ups into space.

During the mission, SpaceX engineers aim to test heat shield coatings. For this purpose, protective tiles on certain parts of the ship have been removed and replaced with special paints. Additionally, the atmospheric reentry process will be monitored using the satellite mock-ups.

As a reminder, the total height of the Starship V3 rocket is 124 meters. This makes it 13.4 meters taller than the legendary Saturn V rocket, making it the largest flying vehicle in human history.
