Meta Launches Paid Subscriptions for Social Networks

Meta has begun the global rollout of paid subscription plans for its core platforms: Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Users can now access additional features for a few dollars. Specifically, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus is set at $2.99. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The new subscriptions offer users profile customization, "super reactions," and expanded analytics for stories. For instance, Instagram Plus subscribers can see who re-watched their stories, extend story duration beyond 24 hours, and use custom fonts. Additionally, users will be able to view stories without appearing on the viewer list.
Meta is also testing new plans under the "Meta One" brand, designed for business representatives, content creators, and AI enthusiasts. This move allows the company to diversify its revenue streams beyond advertising. According to company representatives, the new Plus plans do not replace the existing Meta Verified service but rather complement it.
This update is aimed at active social media users and bloggers who want to better understand their audience. More complex subscription packages incorporating Meta AI capabilities are expected in the future. For now, these features are being rolled out gradually across all regions.
