Visa invests in Replit platform

Payment giant Visa announced an investment in the AI-powered coding platform Replit. The parties are exploring opportunities to integrate Visa payment products into the Replit system. This will allow developers and the AI agents they create to accept payments from customers without leaving the platform. It is reported that over 1,000 Visa employees are currently using Replit for prototyping and software development. This is according to a report by

Techcrunch.com. As part of the partnership, Replit users are expected to utilize Visa Intelligent Commerce and Visa Trusted Agent Protocol systems. These technologies enable AI agents to securely verify their identity and conduct transactions reliably. Projects are currently in the research phase, and no official joint products have been released yet. This step is part of the race to build infrastructure for "agentic payments," where AI agents make purchases on behalf of users.

Replit founder and CEO Amjad Masad stated that the partnership with Visa reinforces the mission to make coding safe and accessible for everyone. The platform also launched a self-serve function for large enterprises. Companies can now sign contracts worth up to $200,000 online without contacting sales representatives. This package includes enterprise security tools such as SSO (Single Sign-On) and enhanced audit logs.

Recently, with the rising demand for platforms like Replit, Cursor, and Lovable, their market valuation has also surged. Valued at $3 billion last September, Replit reached a valuation of $9 billion following an investment round led by Georgian Partners in March of this year. According to Masad, the platform's customer retention rate is very high, in some cases reaching 300 percent.
