Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro camera might outperform the Ultra model in certain aspects

According to Android Headlines, Samsung's upcoming flagships, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, are expected to feature identical main and ultra-wide cameras. However, their telephoto modules will differ significantly. Current reports suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro will be equipped with a 50MP sensor and an ALoP lens with 3.5x optical zoom. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a 50MP sensor and a 5x zoom lens. Interestingly, rumors suggest the Ultra model will completely abandon the older 3x zoom module criticized in previous generations. If confirmed, the main difference between the two models will lie in the zoom range.
Furthermore, Samsung may use a 200MP main sensor for 5x zoom on the Galaxy S27 Pro. In certain scenarios, such as low-light conditions, this could provide better image quality than the dedicated 5x zoom module on the Ultra. This is because the large 200MP sensor captures more light, potentially resulting in brighter cropped 5x zoom images.
Sources note that these are currently prototypes and final specifications may change. Samsung plans to streamline its flagship lineup: a compact yet high-end Pro model and a full-featured Ultra variant. This is intended for users seeking a compact flagship who are dissatisfied with the limitations of the base model.
According to leaks, another key difference between the Pro and Ultra models will be S Pen support, which is expected to remain exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
