ODK introduces 11 new technologies for aircraft engine repair

The ODK-Service enterprise, part of Rostec, is actively developing new methods for repairing aircraft engines and manufacturing components. This year, 11 new technological processes are planned to be implemented at the specialized center for the restoration of parts and assembly units. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
This center meets the demand for maintenance and repair of ODK products. At the same time, the repair system for aviation and ground-based gas turbine engines will be further improved, bringing the quality of technical service to a new level.
The technologies being implemented include electron-beam welding, laser-powder cladding, electrical discharge machining, geometric control of blades, and metallographic research. These methods serve to extend the service life of the engines.
Furthermore, the company is mastering additive technologies that allow for cheaper and faster production of various items and blanks. A new 3D printer capable of printing with four different types and colors of plastic has currently been launched.
