Galaxy Watch 10 smartwatches may be equipped with Micro LED screens

Samsung's Galaxy Watch smartwatches are expected to feature Micro LED screens. Plans to introduce this technology were discussed several years ago, but information has now emerged that the project is moving from the experimental phase to preparation for mass production. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
According to the Korean publication ETNews, the Samsung Display division is building a new line for the production of Micro LED panels in Asan. Equipment installation is scheduled to begin this year. In the initial phase, the company will produce test units to evaluate technical results and the demand from Samsung's mobile division, which is responsible for the Galaxy Watch line.
If the tests are successful, mass production of such displays could start in the second half of 2027. This would allow for the integration of these new screens in future Galaxy Watch generations, specifically starting with the Galaxy Watch 10 series.
Micro LED technology is considered one of the most promising trends in the display industry. Compared to the OLED panels currently used in smartwatches, these screens offer higher brightness, improved contrast, lower power consumption, and a longer lifespan.
Notably, Samsung could be one of the first companies to establish Micro LED production for wearable electronics. Previously, Apple also planned to use this technology in its Apple Watch, but was forced to abandon the project due to technical and manufacturing difficulties.
