Former Snap employees launch Ghost Angels venture fund

About 20 former Snap employees have launched an investment fund called Ghost Angels to support the next generation of social networks. The fund has not disclosed the amount raised, but announced it has already invested in five companies and plans to finance at least 15 more projects over the coming year. This is according to a report by Techcrunch.com.
The fund was founded in 2025 by Max Rivera, former head of global partnerships at Snap. Rivera, who currently works at Microsoft AI, aims to formalize a community of angel investors among Snap alumni. The fund includes experienced professionals such as Alexandra Levitt, head of Snap's corporate accelerator, and Will Wu, one of the founders of the product design team.
Ghost Angels focuses primarily on pre-seed and seed-stage startups implementing AI technologies in the social media and consumer markets. In an interview with TechCrunch, Max Rivera noted that the concept of social networks is changing, with users preferring projects that provide genuine human interaction over platforms based on ads and algorithms.
According to Rivera, the new generation of startups is moving away from ad-only revenue models toward subscriptions, tokens, and outcome-based monetization. The fund aims to support AI-native formats that lower barriers to content creation and distribution in sectors like music, gaming, sports, and fashion.
