
At an expanded meeting dedicated to the effectiveness of work on preventing corruption and future priorities, President Mirziyoyev announced that he had returned the law on corruption approved by parliament for revision due to a number of shortcomings.
“Currently, there is no clear list of corruption crimes in the legislation. The law approved by parliament is limited mainly to increasing punishment,” the President said.
The head of state also noted that the law has a number of shortcomings. In particular, it was pointed out that it does not reflect issues such as preventing corruption, educating our people in a spirit of intolerance to it, creating prevention mechanisms, and encouraging those who helped expose the crime.
Therefore, the President said that he would return this law for revision.
