
On April 23, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his entourage in Samarkand, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking Russian representative conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Head of State Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting discussed in detail the most important issues related to further strengthening the centuries-old friendship, comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, as well as the implementation of the agreements reached during the meetings at the level of heads of state.

It was noted that high-level contacts and fruitful cooperation in all areas of mutual relations continue to be actively maintained. The volume of trade turnover and investments between the countries is steadily growing. The bilateral relations between the regions of the two states and large industrial enterprises are reaching a new level.
It was also highly appreciated that relations in the fields of culture and art, cooperation in science and education, joint projects in healthcare and sports, and partnership in tourism are becoming more active.
In addition, views were exchanged on some pressing issues of regional and international importance.
