Green Card-2025 results announced: more than 5.5 thousand Uzbeks will go to the United States

The results of the 2025 Diversity Immigrant Visa Lottery, or Green Card, traditionally held annually by the United States government, have been announced. This was officially announced by the Kentucky Consular Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky, USA.

This popular program provides the opportunity to permanently reside in the United States to 55,000 people annually. This year, more than 5.5 thousand of the winnings in this lottery went to Uzbeks. This figure once again confirms the great interest and high participation of Uzbek citizens in this program.

The DV-2025 program is organized under Section 203(c) of the United States Immigration and Nationality Act, and in accordance with the requirements of this law, up to 55,000 permanent resident visas are issued annually to citizens of countries with relatively low levels of immigration to the United States.

According to the results announced for 2025, a total of about 131 thousand applicants were initially registered and each of them was notified of this news. This was done as an additional precautionary measure, since not all of the 55 thousand initially selected participants may decide to participate in the subsequent processes. Thus, it is expected that all visas allocated for DV-2025 will be fully distributed during the 2025 fiscal year.

It is worth noting that due to a technical error in the process of announcing the results this year, Uzbekistan was listed among the countries of the European region. If Uzbekistan were compared with countries in the Asian region, our country would have taken first place in this region. The second largest number of winners after Uzbekistan was won by citizens of Iran and Afghanistan.
