From August 1, electricity bill payments will be temporarily restricted for waste service debtors
Starting from August 1, 2025, across Uzbekistan, subscribers who fail to pay for waste removal services on time will face a temporary restriction on making electricity bill payments. This new regulation is being introduced under Law No. 1044, adopted on March 7, 2025, to strengthen payment discipline for waste collection and disposal services.

According to the new system, by the 3rd day of each month, information on debtors will be transferred from the "Toza makon" electronic billing system to the billing system of JSC "Regional Electric Grids." Then, by the 5th day, debtors will receive an SMS notification from the short number 2100.

Subscribers will be given an additional 5-day period to settle their debt after receiving the warning. If payment is not made within this period, the ability to pay for electricity will be automatically and temporarily restricted. However, once the debt is cleared, the restriction will be automatically lifted.

This measure applies only to debts formed from July 1, 2025. Debts accumulated before June 30, 2025, are not subject to this rule.

Sanitary cleaning companies are responsible for accuracy and transparency in calculating payments for waste services. If services are not provided on time or with the required quality, subscribers have the right to demand a recalculation for the days the service was not rendered.

Residents may contact the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency with complaints or suggestions regarding service quality or billing by calling the short number 1205, available 24/7.
