Uzbekistan has launched a digital project aimed at taking gastronomic tourism to a new level. According to the press service of the Tourism Committee, tourists can now visit local families through the online platform eaten.uz and taste national dishes.
For now, the new service covers Samarkand and the Urgut district. Users will not only be able to take part in the cooking process but also join national events such as weddings and various family celebrations.
The platform features a convenient search system that allows tourists to choose a home based on their interests and location. This way, each visitor has the chance to experience the everyday life of local families, their traditions, culture, and cuisine more closely.
Another important aspect of the project is that it creates an additional source of income for local residents. Ordinary families, by opening their homes to tourists, directly participate in the tourism economy. Experts believe this initiative will help further highlight Uzbekistan’s cultural and gastronomic potential on the international stage.
At the same time, eaten.uz is designed to showcase Uzbekistan’s greatest treasures — its people, culture, and food — in a new light. In the future, the platform is expected to expand to other regions, becoming a significant step in the development of gastronomic tourism.
