Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, rumors regarding the potential increase in contract prices at state universities in Uzbekistan have been circulating on social media, raising doubts and questions.
Nazokat Abdukunduzova emphasized that no decisions have been made regarding the increase in contract prices at state universities this year. Therefore, as she stated, the contract prices will not be raised.
It was also previously reported that starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the contract price for one student at the World Economy and Diplomacy University (WEDU) will increase by 15%. Abdukunduzova clarified that, since WEDU is a financially independent university, it sets the contract prices independently. In Uzbekistan, there are more than 40 financially independent universities.
It is worth noting that, according to unofficial sources, within the next 1-2 days, applicants will be given the opportunity to choose a new 6th major. Also, reports suggest that there may be changes in the "super-contract" amounts. All these changes will be implemented based on the powers granted to university rectors.
In the future, there may be various changes in contract prices and financial conditions. Therefore, it is important for applicants and their families to closely monitor new decisions.
