The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on August 22, arrived in Turkmenistan on an official working visit. This visit was carried out upon the official invitation of the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, reported the Presidential press service.
At the Turkmenbashi city airport, the head of state was officially received by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyyev, and other high-ranking officials of the country. At the ceremony, special attention was paid to the traditions of mutual respect and showing friendliness.
Currently, Mirziyoyev is participating in trilateral negotiations in the format "Azerbaijan – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan". Additionally, bilateral productive meetings are planned. The upcoming negotiations are primarily focused on the development of trade and economic relations, transport and communication infrastructure, cooperation in the energy sector, and strengthening humanitarian ties.
During the events taking place in the national tourist zone "Avaza", a number of joint documents are planned to be signed. According to experts, these documents may elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level and contribute to regional stability.
Furthermore, during the meetings, the heads of the two states exchange views on foreign policy, regional security, and expanding economic cooperation. This visit is of significant importance for the economic development of the two countries and for advancing multilateral cooperation to a new level.
Mirziyoyev's visit to Turkmenistan is recognized as one of his diplomatic visits in the region. It is expected that this visit will further strengthen the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
