In the infrastructure of the city of Tashkent, a new step has been made – a modern underground automobile road has been put into operation. President Shavkat Mirziyoev today, August 29, personally inspected the road built on Yangi Oʻzbekiston Street. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The road, built with the goal of developing the city and improving the efficiency of traffic flow, is especially important for Tashkent, where the population is constantly increasing and the area is expanding. In recent years, around Yangi Oʻzbekiston Street, a recreation park, residential complexes, universities, and the Olympic town have been built, making this area a center of attention. In the future, this street is expected to become one of the main roads leading to New Tashkent.
The constructed underground road has a length of 468 meters and a width of 25 meters, and it can carry more than 10 thousand vehicles per hour. The road is built in tunnel form, and its surface has been converted into a green area, providing safe movement for pedestrians between the “Yangi Oʻzbekiston” park and the Olympic town. It is also noted that a tunnel and a station have been built for the planned metro line in this direction.
From an economic point of view, the road will bring great benefits to residents. By accelerating the movement of vehicles, travel time is halved, 1 ton of fuel is saved daily, and the amount of harmful gases released into the atmosphere decreases by 2 tons. This creates convenience not only for the city’s residents but also plays an important role in improving the ecological situation.
The head of state paid special attention to the fact that the underground automobile road was built according to modern standards. Such smooth roads create comfort not only for daily traffic but also contribute significantly to the development of city tourism and infrastructure. This is an important step for the future traffic flow of Tashkent and a new level of urban environment.
