With the beginning of the autumn season, the cotton harvest has also entered an active phase. Various rumors about the price of cotton spread on social networks. In some sources it was stated that 1800 soums would be paid for 1 kilogram of cotton, and this news sparked heated discussions among many.
However, the Ministry of Agriculture officially denied such information and clarified to the public the actual prices for this year. It was reported that in 2025 the following prices were set for cotton harvesting:

For each kilogram of cotton harvested by machine — 1373 soums.

For each kilogram of cotton harvested by hand — the recommended price is set at 2000 soums.
At the same time, the ministry additionally emphasized that in practice, prices can also be independently set on the basis of mutual agreement between pickers, farms, and clusters.
One of the main innovations is the allocation of subsidies from the state budget. In particular, in order to cover the costs of growing cotton, farmers will be provided with support of 1000 soums per kilogram. This has been noted as an important measure aimed at ensuring stability in the sector and encouraging the work of pickers.
In the official statement of the ministry it was said:
“The information circulating in social networks that ‘1 kg — 1800 soums’ does not correspond to reality. These data are not confirmed by any official documents. Cotton harvesting prices are announced only through official sources. Unverified news and assumptions may mislead society and, in accordance with current legislation, may lead to responsibility,” — it was especially emphasized in the statement.
Thus, with the official announcement of the responsible authorities, the various interpretations regarding cotton prices were eliminated. From now on, farmers and pickers can be assured that their labor will be given a fair value and can begin work.
