On October 5, an amicable telephone conversation took place between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. During the conversation, the head of our state sincerely congratulated the leader of the neighboring country on his birthday. This was reported by the presidential press service.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Emomali Rahmon on his 72nd birthday, wishing him strong health, peace, family happiness, and long life. He also expressed his sincere wishes for the prosperity of the Tajik people and the sustainable development of the country.
During the conversation, President Mirziyoyev emphasized Emomali Rahmon’s important role in strengthening the country’s independence, ensuring its economic development, and increasing Tajikistan’s prestige on the international stage. According to him, the resolute policy and state activity of the Tajik leader are of great importance for the entire region.
“President Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted Emomali Rahmon’s personal contribution to strengthening the relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,” the presidential press service stated.
During the discussion, the heads of the two states considered key areas of mutual cooperation. In particular, they discussed the expansion of trade and economic relations, the development of industrial cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in transport and energy, and the support of agriculture and tourism.
Special attention was also given to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties and further enhancing the atmosphere of friendship and mutual trust between the peoples.
The parties agreed to continue joint efforts to form a new agenda of practical cooperation and to coordinate the plan for upcoming bilateral and multilateral high-level events.
For reference: Emomali Rahmon was born on October 5, 1952, and has held the position of President of the Republic of Tajikistan since 1994. Under his leadership, the country has achieved social and economic stability and has become an active participant in regional cooperation.
Relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have significantly developed in recent years. Regular dialogue between Presidents Mirziyoyev and Rahmon contributes to bringing the two brotherly peoples closer, expanding economic cooperation, and improving the lives of residents in border regions.
