Mirziyoyev's visit to Tajikistan ends: important agreements announced

The official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Tajikistan has concluded. Experts assess this trip as an important step that has opened a new stage of political cooperation in the region.

According to the Presidential press service, during the visit Shavkat Mirziyoyev held extensive talks with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The discussions focused on further strengthening strategic partnership between the two neighboring states, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and ensuring the rational use of energy and water resources.

During the negotiations, the heads of state emphasized that mutual trust and open dialogue are among the key factors in ensuring regional stability and economic growth. In this regard, Tashkent and Dushanbe reached an agreement to implement new joint projects in the fields of industry, agriculture, transport, and logistics.

During his visit, President Mirziyoyev also took part in the second “Central Asia – Russia” summit as well as in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, both held in Dushanbe. At these forums, he put forward a number of new initiatives aimed at deepening political, economic, and humanitarian cooperation in the region.

The leader of Uzbekistan emphasized the need to strengthen transport connectivity among Central Asian countries, develop the digital economy, and prepare joint programs in the field of ecology. He also proposed launching youth exchange programs in education and culture.

President Mirziyoyev’s speech was warmly received by the summit participants. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in turn, expressed his readiness to further develop relations with Uzbekistan in all areas.

After the completion of all events on the agenda, the high-ranking guest was solemnly seen off at Dushanbe International Airport by Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and other officials.

Before departing for his homeland, President Mirziyoyev expressed confidence in the friendship between the two nations and the prospects for regional cooperation. He noted that the close neighborly relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are important not only for the two peoples but also for the stability of the entire Central Asian region.

According to analysts, this visit is expected to bring not only political but also practical economic results. In particular, new joint projects expected to be announced in the coming months may elevate bilateral relations to a new level.

Thus, President Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Tajikistan has concluded, but his initiatives and agreements have defined the future strategic directions of Central Asia’s development.
