A large-scale regional military exercise began this week at the “Kattakurgan” training ground in Samarkand region. The “Unity – 2025” drills are being held at the initiative of the Central Military District with the participation of units from the Ministries of Defense of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Azerbaijan.
At the opening ceremony held on October 14, it was noted that this is one of the largest international military cooperation exercises in the history of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense. The main goal of the exercise is to strengthen trust and cooperation among neighboring countries, ensure regional security, and enhance the ability to jointly respond to modern military threats.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has been actively developing international military cooperation, reaching important agreements with several countries in military and technical fields, experience exchange, and collective security. “Unity – 2025” marks another step forward in this direction.
The training process will last several days. Participants will practice combat maneuvers, rapid decision-making, and the effective use of new types of weapons and drones. Artillery, armored vehicles, and modern weapon systems capable of striking long-range targets will also be widely used.
According to the organizers, these exercises are aimed not only at improving combat readiness but also at strengthening friendship and trust between neighboring nations. “Unity – 2025” is regarded as an important step toward ensuring security not only in Central Asia but across the entire region.
Thus, the drills at the “Kattakurgan” range have become a symbol of regional solidarity and a joint step toward a secure and united future.
