Mirziyoyev leaves for Brussels: A new stage with Europe begins

Tomorrow, October 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will depart for an official visit to Brussels, the capital of Belgium. This was reported by the presidential press service.

The visit is being made at the invitation of the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

In Brussels, President Mirziyoyev will hold bilateral talks with the heads of the main institutions of the European Union. The meetings will focus on implementing the agreements reached at the recent Samarkand summit, as well as expanding cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, energy, and science and education.

As part of the visit, the signing of a new Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union is also expected.

Additionally, President Mirziyoyev will meet with the leadership of Belgium and hold discussions with executives of major European companies and banks to promote joint industrial and technological projects.

According to the presidential press service, this visit aims to elevate Uzbekistan’s relations with Europe to a new stage of development.
