According to the press service of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, the sale of unverified quality medicines has been halted. Employees of the Jizzakh city Department, in cooperation with the State Security Service and law enforcement agencies, conducted a special operational event.
During the operation, the head of “M.F.” LLC and his accomplice in the crime were detained. They were caught selling 644 units of 7 types and 298 packages of medicines without documents confirming their quality and origin.
The offenders planned to earn 152.3 million soums from selling these products. On this occasion, a criminal case was initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Production, preparation, purchase, storage, transportation or sale of substandard or counterfeit medicines and medical items, sale of medicines outside of pharmacies and their branches, as well as violation of the procedure for selling medicines containing potent substances by prescription at retail.”
Currently, investigative actions are underway and other accomplices of the offenders are being identified.
